“Children are human beings to whom respect is due, superior to us by reason of their innocence and of the greater possibilities of their future” ― Maria Montessori.
Coming from a finance background with over 10years banking/marketing experience I feel honoured to finally live my passion of being a part of the child’s journey through world exploration, self discovery and ultimately to self-acceptance.
In 2015, I had the privilege of taking a two-year Diploma in Montessori Education from Montessori Centre South Africa (MCSA) after having experienced the warm environment of the Montessori School in Pretoria-South Africa.
I am also privileged to belong to the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), which was founded by Dr. Maria Montessori in 1929 to maintain the integrity of her life’s work and to ensure that her philosophy and approach to education would be carried on as she intended. Dr. Montessori’s goal was to foster the full development of the human being.
As a Montessorian at heart, I am humbled to be accepted as a member of SAMA- South African Montessori Association which is an association constituted with the mandate to unite Montessori professionals by encouraging global best practice in Montessori methodology.
My favourite Montessori quote is “The environment must be rich in motives which lend interest to activity and invite the child to conduct his own experiences.” ― Dr. Maria Montessori.
A word to describe me is “HAPPY” and I am happy to say that my superpower is “I TEACH MONTESSORI”.
Rana T. Kort
Greetings! I am Rana T. Kort.
After working in Hotel management for 5 years, I had the opportunity to take certificate and Diploma courses in Early Childhood Development / Montessori Specialisation with the Montessori Centre International -United Kingdom. I have also tutored as a trainer with Montessori Centre South Africa (MCSA).
It has been 19 YEARS now working with children under 6 years of age and I continue to learn from them each day. When I am not working with children at school, I am at home with my 4 awesome children.
I am constantly reminded of how we should trust our children and give them the freedom within limits in their environment both at home and in school. Every day as I wake, I am thankful and appreciative of the opportunities I have to be working in an environment where children can learn and experience new challenges that will help build their independence, confidence and self-esteem, as a Montessorian, this is my ultimate goal.
To describe myself, I am affable, nurturing and accommodating. I look forward to continued success with children, teachers and parents.
My Favorite Montessori Quote:
“We cannot know the consequences of suppressing a child’s spontaneity when he is just beginning to be active. We may even suffocate life itself. That humanity which is revealed in all its intellectual splendour during the sweet and tender age of childhood should be respected with a kind of religious veneration. It is like the sun which appears at dawn or a flower just beginning to bloom. Education cannot be effective unless it helps a child to open up himself to life.”
― Maria Montessori
My name is Selasi Ayedzi. I am currently the Administrator at Bloomings Montessori Plus. I have been involved with Montessori education for over 6 years now.
Through the years, I have garnered experience from serving as an Administrative Assistant, an Executive Assistant, Library Manager and a media consultant/manager within the Montessori community in Ghana.
No matter where I found myself in the school set-up, I have been guided by the timeless words of Dr Maria Montessori ; “Our care of the child should be governed, not by the desire to make him learn things, but by the endeavour always to keep burning within him that light which is called intelligence”
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Administration from the University of Ghana. More than anything else I have been thoroughly inspired by the pure joy, love and the light children bring with them. I strongly believe every child armed with the shield of a strong foundation would go on and take on the world. Three words that describe me. I am bubbly, energetic and positive.
